Accra, Ghana — A 30-year-old woman, Mavis Nkrumah, has been arrested by police for allegedly assaulting her ex-boyfriend, Gideon Frimpong, 29, with acid following a breakup-related dispute.
The incident reportedly occurred after a heated confrontation between the former couple. Frimpong sustained serious injuries and is currently receiving treatment at a medical facility. The extent of his injuries has not yet been disclosed.
According to authorities, Mavis Nkrumah is in police custody and assisting with investigations. Preliminary findings suggest the attack may have been premeditated, though motives are still being established.
The police have assured the public that justice will be pursued and have urged calm as the investigation continues.
