Firebrand NPP stalwart, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, has taken a swipe at Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, questioning his bid to lead the New Patriotic Party into the 2024 elections.
According to the outspoken MP, Bawumia’s leadership role in the 2020 campaign, which saw the NPP lose over 2 million votes, should disqualify him from another shot at leadership.
“You can’t lose over 2 million votes and still be handed the flagbearership. This is not a family inheritance,” Kennedy Agyapong asserted.
The comment has sparked fresh debate within the party, as tensions rise ahead of the next general election.
