President Mahama Bans DStv and Satellite TV in Government Offices

President John Mahama has directed an immediate ban on all DStv and satellite TV subscriptions across government agencies. The decision is part of efforts to cut unnecessary spending and promote the use of local broadcasting services.

According to the presidency, government offices have no need for premium entertainment services at the expense of taxpayers. Ministries and agencies are expected to switch to digital terrestrial TV where necessary for official work.

The move supports the government’s broader plan to reduce waste and prioritize essential public service resources.
