Dada Joe Remix” Extradited to U.S. in Major Romance & Inheritance Scam

Joseph Kwadwo Badu Boateng, widely known as Dada Joe Remix, has been extradited from Ghana to the United States to face charges related to orchestrating a massive romance and inheritance scam targeting elderly American victims.

Ghanaian authorities, in collaboration with the U.S. Embassy’s Diplomatic Security Service and the FBI, arrested Boateng on May 28, 2025, following an indictment unsealed in the District of Arizona two days later  . The U.S. Department of Justice alleges that from 2013 to 2023, he and co-conspirators used fake romantic relationships and inheritance promises—complete with bogus gold, jewels, and tax fees—to defraud victims of several million dollars  .

A press release confirms that the fraud syndicate specifically targeted elderly Americans, exploiting their trust and emotional vulnerabilities  . The FBI-led investigation and extradition mark part of a broader U.S. initiative to dismantle transnational elder fraud operations in partnership with international counterparts  .

Boateng is now in the U.S. and expected to face a federal indictment on conspiracy to commit wire fraud and money laundering. If convicted, he could face substantial prison time under federal sentencing guidelines  . The Department of Justice emphasized that he remains innocent until proven guilty in a U.S. court  .
